An amateur Bingo player from England took advantage of his beginner’s luck this week and took home a £24,000 prize (approximately 30,000 euros) playing at the local Bingo club.

The lucky winner is a 49 year old man, named Paul Ian Smith, a resident of the city of Hull in the East part of Yorkshire in England. He was touched by the magic wand when he was playing the game of Bingo with his girlfriend for the fist time at Hull’s Mecca Bingo club in Clough Road.

After realizing that he was the winner, Smith said that "everyone in the club was really nice and we had a bit of a hangover the next day from celebrating", and he added, "we only started going for something to do in the evenings. I was in real shock and my girlfriend burst into tears".

With the money won playing, Smith is planning to buy a new car and finally get rid of his old one.
