Mom wins $30,000 at Bingo

A woman from the city of Weymouth in the south coast of England is still in shock after scooping £15,000 (approximately 30.000 dollars) playing at her local Gala Bingo club.

The prize corresponds to the National Bingo Game prize. The jackpot for that night was exactly £45.000 but two other players completed full house in 41 balls so the top prize had to be shared. The woman’s luck didn’t end there, as she was also the winner of the £30 house prize.

Bingo licenses in Buenos Aires

The Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos has extended the licenses of the 46 bingo parlors in the province of Buenos Aires for 15 years.

The cost of the licenses was one thousand million Argentinean pesos.

The expiration date for the licenses is June 30th, 2021.

Scotland’s bingo clubs are at risk of closure

The Bingo Association informed that almost half of Scotland’s Bingo Clubs could close due to the effects of the smoking ban, which has been in force since March. “Adapting venues to the new smoke-free laws will take time and a considerable amount of investment”, Chairman Sir Peter Fry explained.

The Association recently announced that five clubs have already closed and three more are about to close for good. “The severity and speed of impact that the industry is currently experiencing in Scotland is alarming”, Sir Fry added.

Bingo players will be able to choose a 30,000 prize

A new interconnected bingo system will allow people who play bingo game in Castilla and León bingo rooms, to obtain an additional prize of 30,000 euros if they can call “bingo!” before a specific number of balls fixed for that day, according to information published today by Internet portal SoloAzar.com.

The system is regulated by the local government, and it aims to “make the game more dynamic”, as “it was coming to a standstill” and needed to be adapted to the demands from users and companies.

Slots could affect bingo business

According to bingo experts, legalized slots in Pittsburgh could affect bingo games sponsored by churches, volunteer fire departments and many other nonprofit groups. David Ross, public policy officer for the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations, says such organizations have no resources to battle the inevitable losses caused by slots.

"We're eight or nine minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, so you just can't compete with those casinos -- the flashing lights and the big prizes and the atmosphere and a little bit of drinking".

Neil Goulden, chief executive of Gala Bingo Hall, assured that admissions to bingo clubs have been much stronger than in England after the introduction of the smoking ban, to everyone’s surprise.
Gala private company owns 27 bingo halls in Scotland and their competitors, Rank Group leisure conglomerate, owns 14. Many bingo operators were afraid of losing their frequent players during bingo sessions intervals, when they need to leave the hall and take a smoking break outside.

Police raid into Bingo Hall

After no less than 18 months of close investigation of a social club in Clearfield, Utah, police forces finally burst into the hall this week. Undercover officers had kept the local club under surveillance in the town with a population of just 26,000 inhabitants, presuming some kind of illegal business.

Being contempt with the information gathered by the team of officers assigned to the investigation, they finally made up their minds to enter the place.
